2008 LS460 Parking sensors replacement question ........
I have a 2008 LS 460. The dealer says the two parking sensors on the drivers side front corner. need to be replaced. He also said that the control arm bushing need to be replaced (3600) dollars. I've been told that those bushings are built like a tank.
I'm in sales and have 110,000 miles on the car. Mostly interstate miles.
Can I replace the parking sensors without removal of the bumper.

What Vansibel said.
My only additional thought is that the ones on the side/corner may be more easily accessible (via the wheel well, after you remove the lining), since they are outside the area where the bumper absorber lives, but the "official" process definitely requires the bumper coming off.

The LS460 has 6 sensors in front. The two closest to the wheel well can be removed w/o taking the bumper off. You just have to access it through the wheel well. I have been able to remove them before.
LMK what happens when you replace your sensors. I have one bad sensor on my passenger side corner, bought a new one, but didn't seem to fix it..
do keep in mind that the sensor closest to the wheel well is a bit bigger than the other 4 on the bumper. So you have to buy the correct one before replacing. They have two part numbers
89341-50060 or 89341-50070

Check the suspension info in this sticky, and also do a search for more recent info.

Crazy question, do the broken sensors turn some sort of service light on your dash? If not, do you use your parking assist? I do, but I certainly could live without it. If the sensors didn't turn a service light on...and if you don't need your park assist, I wouldn't bother replacing them. Knowing Lexus they'll quote you 3k to get them replaced.
And these control arm bushing quotes and failures that I keep hearing about...is it hurting your driving experience? Does it feel loose, or unsafe? Because cracks in a bushing aren't always reason to replace them...especially when you are getting quotes of 3,600 dollars.
