Default Delayed Response on Incoming Calls

I am having an issue with incoming phone calls having the first two or three seconds not being heard over the Bluetooth system. I have a 2012 LS460 and am using a Nokia 1020 phone that uses Windows OS. First, let me say I did not have this issue using the same phone on my 2008 LS460.

When I make a call out, there is absolutely NO issues. Everything works perfectly. However, when a call comes in and I say hello, there is nothing....but when I say hello again (about 2 seconds later)....the caller can hear me. Everything works fine after that. On texts, rather than hearing "text from Joe Smith, play or ignore it", all I hear is "...play or ignore it". So, I don't actually hear who it is from. Out going voice activated texts work fine. And again, the phone worked perfectly with the '08 LS460.

Any suggestions? I have not tried to reload the phone again, but maybe that would work. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't help with the problem but how do you like the Windows OS on the Nokia 1020. I have been waiting for a Windows OS phone. Is the Nokia there yet?

I really like 8.1. I've had the Nokia 1020 for about a year now, incredible camera on a phone. The phone and everything else is also quite good. AT&T just released the new 8.1 OS last week and no problems with it....although...it didn't help with the phone delay issue. Grrrrrrrrr.

The go to fix for everything Bluetooth has always been delete phone from car, and car from phone, hard reset on the phone (if the windows phone has one) and reinstall. Haven't got to see one of these Nokias in action yet

Thanks....will give that a try for sure! As for the Nokia Windows phone, yup, seems like everyone has an iPhone or some Android phone. I enjoy having the device no one has, but that is really a very good device if people would just try it. By the way, on an internet search to solve my problem with the connection in the car, seems like this issue is common among many types of phones and cars.

Default Delay on Incoming phone call

I had a 2010, and a 2012. I also have a 2012 4RUNNER. On any incoming call using bluetooth in vehicle there is a delay after pushing the answer button. I usually have to say "hello" about three times before I get a response from the incoming party. Since all three vehicles do the same, I never checked with Lexus service about it.

Yep^^^ There is always just a slight delay between when you answer, and when the other party can hear you. Same in every model and year regardless of phone.

I must disagree!!!! My 2008 LS460 had no delay whether it was an incoming phone call or an incoming text. I had that car for 6 years, and I never had a delay, even with my silly Palm 3 phone! I did remove and add back my phone in the car and still a delay. Very frustrating. It must be an almost 3 second delay. Grrrrrrrrrr....oh well....I will survive.

Same here. No delay in answering calls on my 2008 SWB. On the 2012 LWB there's a delay of 2 - 3 seconds.

IMO the Lexus Bluetooth and navigation is the worst I have ever used!!!!! The nav system especially. The damn thing go me lost so many times. It go confused with over passes and exits on the highway.

The bluetooth I found had a major delay using my android phone. It would take over 1 min to connect a call. I would also hear 3 to 4 rings from my phone before the car started ringing.
