The little folding drawer/shelf inside my console popped loose and when I took the car in for

scheduled maintenance, I asked the service dept to put it back together.

They advised me that after trying to fix it for a while, it could not be repaired.

I would need a new one.

Cost: $1200.00!

Naturally I passed on this bargain.

Does anyone have any information on repairing this thing?

It doesn't appear to be broken, just the little springs and bracket have come loose.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Unless something is broken, it can be put back together the same way it came out!

I would have to ask how it happened. That's just odd. However, if it is broken, you probably can source a used part from a salvage place on line. Not sure if you need the entire console or not, but most of that can be sourced used at half or less than suggested retail.

Like Ron (RZ) said, get a good used one from a Salvage yard. TLS Auto Recycling had a totaled LS460 they have been parting out. They are in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Thanks for the replys.

My lovely bride put more than she should have in the console, and when the lid was closed the

little shelf/drawer popped loose.

Nothing appears broken, just the three little springs are loose.

Don't have a go by so guessing hit or miss on how they connect.

When it returns from the shop, I will see if I can figure out how to fix it.

Sometimes the dealers just don't want to spend the time on something like this.
