Hello All...

I am going to my dealer tomorrow to shop.. (hope I can get a good deal on a SWB).

Just one question, is every LS shipped to the US equipped with lexuslink? or most of it comes with it already? I don't think I will use this.

i think most of the ls460 comes with it, but not all. i have seen a ls460 without it.

If it has the Lexus Link and a few hundred does not kill you it is no big deal you do not have to subscribe but I have ON Star an after an accident it is going to be hard not to subscribe after the free trial is up.

No, all LS's do not have it. The one I just closed a deal on does not.

It just turned out that car they located for me with the color combo I wanted did not have it, and I wasn't devastated about that. I've had OnStar and/or AcuraLink or LexusLink in the last 4 or 5 cars I've owned and never even activated any of it.

i hope lexus link uses a digital network because there was a lot of messages going around last week that the onstar system is going down soon because the analog network in the us is going away.

True but in most of the new models as mine the ON Star is Digital. Lexus Link and On Star are really one in the same.

From what I have seen, Lexuslink seems to come on most 460L's and comes on less of the reg 460's. When I bought my 460L last year it seemed that ALL of the L's had the Lexuslink.

I too have had Onstar and Acuralink and never subscribed to them after the initial free trial period.

If you live in a more rural area where cell reception can be spotty it might be nice since the Onstar system was a satellite phone system and worked virtually anywhere.

In 2005 Lexuslink was made all digital. I have also read that Lexuslink is actually Onstar with dedicated Lexuslink operators to answer the calls.

Given that information about Lexuslink being a rebadged version of Onstar's Satellite phone system, the benefits would be that the Lexuslink Phone would work anywhere in the US where your personal cell phone may not.

The way we get them is that all of the L's are Lexuslink equipped and the SWB's with APGS have them.

Another Lexus oversight, every Chevy comes with Onstar standard and Lexus still makes it an option on its top of the line car. I had a hard time finding an SWB 460 with Lexuslink when I bought my 2.
