Do Toyota dealers have engine air filters that will fit LS430?
Anyone know?
I live in Los Angeles and am taking my LS in to Toyota for an oil change. The Beverly Hills dealer wants.........wait for it.........$109 for an oil change. Right. Let the rich be suckers.
Toyota will do it for $49. I'm wondering if they can replace my air filter also and would have one that fits in their stock.
Anyone had their filters done at Toyota?

Suggest you buy a couple of high quality Denso air filters on Amazon for $17.70 each. Buy 2 so you get free shipping : ) Changing the air filter on the LS430 is very easy and literally takes 5 minutes if you take your time. While you change air filter spend another 25 minutes cleaning MAF and throttle body. Those 3 simple operations at least once a year make your car run smooth as silk. Having the dealer do them for you will likely cost you $250 that I'd rather have in the bank.

If you have a Costco around, synthetic oil changes are $50.00. They'll change the filter as well. If I go out and buy the parts it's going to be more expensive.
I had a GM goodwrench dealer try and charge $139.99 for an oil change. I guess there's a sucker born every day.

Another alternative for oil changes is to buy your own full syn oil at walmart and buy OEM filter from Toyota or Amazon and then get dealer to quote labor only for oil change. Lexus will do an oil change if you bring in the oil and filter for 30-40 bucks labor. Toyota will do it for $20-30. I diy my oil and filter changes because I'm crazy enough to actually enjoy doing the minor maint work and I have garage, jack and tools. I understand not everyone enjoys doing car maint or has place and tools to do the work. But if you have the place and tools the LS430 is very easy to work on.

You can purchase 3 oil changes for about $30 from eoilchange.com , through Groupon. That's what I've been using for years.
Read caveats about where you can use them and time-limits before purchasing.
Castrol 5W-30 oil, with filter, done at my Toyota dealer, for about $10
