Default P1349 & P1354 after timing belt change with VSC light,

No codes before I started, Car started just like always, Idles great, however I'm getting the 2 codes above. I am going back this morning and checking for connecters and vacuum lines.

Cleared the codes and almost immediately they are back

I did clean the throttle body and took out the left back of sparks plugs

Any thoughts to what I missed would be appreciated.

You didn't say if you had the battery disconnected during this maintenance, but even if it was I would check all connectors once again and then pull the negative lead off for at least 5 minutes. Since both codes are related to the VVT, double check both sensors for loose or damaged connections. The camshaft position sensor on the timing belt cover may factor into this system as well, so that is another place to focus. Good luck in your troubleshooting.

The Positive side was disconnected at the battery, negative was disconnected at the alternator during the service.

I did disconnect the negative for about 20 minutes this morning, the problems duplicated with the codes and lights.

Going to start chasing connectors and wires.

Thanks for the input.

Generally these two codes are caused by one of the following:

● Jumped time by one tooth or timing belt incorrectly installed
● Oil control valve
● VVT controller

You were absolutely right.... I was 1 tooth off on both cams...

I just needed adult supervision!

Thank You Club Lexus
