Help please - squeaks and overheats
My 2001 Ls430 squeaks and overheats. What could it possibly be?

When I start the car it squeaks and clicks. I let it sit and it stops. Soon as I drive off it starts clicking every time I accelerate. Then the squealing noise come back along with the overheating.

My experience says clicking is a water pump bearing failing. Interesting when you add in the squeaking. It could be a freezing bearing is causing the serpentine belt to slip until it can overcome the bearing. I would pull the belt off and see if the water pump bearing turns freely. In any event, if you're having cooling issues at the same time it absolutely points the the pump.
Of course, if you're doing the pump you should see if it's close to timing belt time since you'll be in the area.
Water pump, timing belt, new serpentine, thermostat and new coolant. Independent mechanic should be around $1000 or less and the dealer closer to $1600.
Let us know how it turns out. Good luck.
