1uz-fe instead of 3uz-fe for LS 430
I have a separate thread on removing a motor from 2003 LS 430. Want to post this question separate.
In researching engines, the cost of the 1uz is about 1/3 that of the 3uz. I don't need the extra horsepower.
Will the 1uz fit without any problems? If anyone has any recommendations where to look for information please let me know.
I know people put these motors in other cars so I'm sure it's possible. But possible with no modifications...
Thanks.

now your going off the deep end , you would need a new ecu and engine management system , you would lose 40 horsepower, the tranny wpould probably not fit without modification and a whole host of other things you would need to modify.
Not to mention your car would have zero resale value after that.
any money you save on the engine you would spend 3 times fold on getting it to work

i'm always trying to save a dollar you know. But this would be penny smart pound foolish.

As nice an engine as the 1UZ is, 1WILLY1 covered the main points. Doubtful the multiplex communication module that links all these systems together would accept the 1UZ ECU. Not that this is an impossible install, just a step in a different direction. Would require a front clip from a 98-00 LS400 to transplant electronics and routing them may turn to be quite a bother to remove the whole dash of your 430. Other custom fab work would come in as well.

3uz-fe how much they want for the engine?
Did you try to call every singe car junk yards in your town, or any used auto parts place, some one should have this engine from wreaked car.
Try different cites and states, make the deal with them, rent a small truck, make your own delivery, to save money.

Thanks.[/QUOTE The dude that said it wouldn't work dont listen to him. it does you can swap the 1uz just fine got to swap the back hard cooling line under manifold by starter. you can even use the heads off the 3uz if you wanted. make sure its a vvti 1uz if you plan to use the wiring harness and ecu thats in the 430 and you will have the same horsepower they both are 290 HP no difference which is cause the 430 ecu tuned down to make it less then what it should be.

Uh... Sorry to burst your bubble, but this thread, (and the guy that you are replying to) have been inactive on here for 10 years and one month.
I'm sure that market conditions for both engines are significantly different now than they were in 2014 as well.
