Rattling noise + Chrome Shifter Bezel
Hi guys,
I have been having a very very annoying rattling noise in my cabin! Yes, that is true, an LS430 with rattling noise inside the cabin. Of what is supposed to be the quietest cabin in the world.
I have never had rattling issues with both of my previous LS430's. But just 3 days ago, I started hearing some noise that sounds like it's coming from the right side of the navigation or the drawer on the right. I don't which it is exactly, and it's driving me crazy.
Any previous experiences with some similar noise so I can at least target a spot to look at.
I tried removing the whole center console, I cleaned it and all, but still, the noise is still there.
It was so dirty, I actually found a solid rock piece of bread, and some Starbucks napkins that are from the previous owner.
Anyway, while doing that, I damaged my chrome shifter bezel that surrounds the gear shift. It does not look that bad, it just looks like the silver coloring might fall off. So if the price isn't high in the sky I'll get one, if somebody had it replaced please tell me the price and where you got it, all your help is appreciated.

looks like previous owner was a real slob. Never understand how such slobs can shell out the money for a nice car then treat it like ******.
The chrome cover is part number 3597250120 "COVER, POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING" and is $57 from Sewell Lexus after the CL discount. $94 reg price.

If the piece isn't broke and just discolored maybe try wrapping it in 3m film in your color of choice. Seen lots of guys in other makes wrap in carbon fiber etc to cover discolored or ugly trim pieces, wood etc. But for 57.00 I'd just eat it and move on. These cars are too nice still to leave things half ***

I guess, I'll just go ahead and order it. Because covering it with some tape will make it look worse.
But the rattle, my god the rattle is bringing the OCD that's inside of me.
I bought some clear silicone, but don't know where to stick it.
Any ideas about common squeaky spots?

Can you have someone drive while you listen and try to pinpoint the rattle. I did this on my old minivan when I had a rattle in the back that was driving me up the wall.
One of these is nice to have as well:

I don't think it's worth buying a stethoscope, I might visit a mechanic who has one tomorrow, and if that is of any help.
I'll take the NAV and a/c vents off tomorrow and hopefully I find something behind them causing the rattle.
I'll post up what happens.
