Lexus LS430 by Club4AG, now on Vossen VVS-CV4
Cars should always have a very narrowly defined purpose to which it was made for.
Sports cars should be agile, light, beautiful, and communicative, and that’s what the AE86, and the FRS is appropriately.
Luxury sedans too, shall be made with a single focus, that is to be silent, large, comfortable as a first class cabin, and stately.
Vossen wheels were chosen to update our Lexus LS430 project car, and it brings the car into 2013 after 10 years of service since it rolled off the showroom floor.
Fitment: 2004 Lexus LS430
Vossen VVS-CV4
Front: 20×9.0J, +32, 5×114.3
Rear: 20×10.5J, +45, 5×114.3
Falken Tire FK453, 245/35-20 and 275/30-20
The RSR i-Shock were custom valved and fitted with proper stroke range to accommodate this F:32mm R:35mm drop. With monotube hand assembled shock body, bearing mount spring perches, and full high end rubber bushings, these coil-overs do not ruin the inherent silent, compliant, and predictable handling of the LS430, while providing high level of compliance and stroke. RS-R is the only company who builds Japanese hand-built coil-over systems designed for each application in exact piston lengths, and shock valve specifications, and on fully tapped body that can be custom made to each user's preferred height, and keeping suspension damper stroke and valving range.

All automobiles have a hub mounting surface that is located somewhere inside the wheel some closer to the outside and others closer to the inside. Most newer cars have large brake calipers and therefore are common to have the wheel mounting surface closer to the outside edge of the wheel. Offset is the relation and distance from the center of the wheel to where it actually has to mate to the car hub, so that the wheels fit properly (sometimes with preference to bring it out or in for function or styling). This difference in distance from the center is measured in millimeters. As you make the wheel offset closer to the outside from the center, the number becomes positive. And as you make the hub mount closer into the car, the number decreases in relation to center of the wheel, in negative number.
In the case of the LS430, hub mating surface is very far outside to clear for massive front brake calipers, and the fitment number is always positive in number and can vary from +30 ~ +55mm or so, depending on the width of the wheels chosen, and in most cases aftermarket, the wheels would likely be wider at rear than in front.
Since OFFSET numbers are in relation to the dead center position of the wheel, the numbers change depending on application, wheel width, wheel position front or rear, but you need to remember that this is what makes a wheel flush, set-in, or pushed out, and correct offset will make or break the styling, function and fit of any wheel on any car, in addition to the size chosen and tire sizes fitted.

It's not that I hate, nor despise air-bag dropped cars, but I don't really create cars for car shows only, and that I like my cars fully functional in normal daily use.
The LS430 is my favorite Lexus due to it's attribute of being a very stable high speed cruiser, analog circuit dependability being a car made just before the CAN-BUS took over the entire electrical system for most cars after.
That being said, it's just my preference to keep things working well, and only modifying things like slight ride height and use of the monotube shocks.
Both of which were pretty much constraints of mass produced generic automobile and production price constraints.
RSR Monotube i-Shocks provide the stability and compliance more closer to German cars that ride on Ohlins and Bilstein, and the drop just enough to be still not be a problem in Los Angeles.
That's really the concept.
Falken 453 were used on the track and previously, but I opted for the PT722 later as it was more silent, and just as predictable in handling.
And lap time wasn't so critical for this car as much as my AE86's and FR-S.

RS-R shocks are made in-house, in Japan, by hand assembly, and are monotube custom-valved for each application, and offer a much more compliant ride, and much better overall predictability in dynamic changes.
