God bless Toyota and the ease of which they made the in-cabin filter replaceable. I was getting to spending an hour on replacing it....15 minutes later, I was done. I wish other manufacturers made it as easy to change this filter out.

Question - After I replaced the engine air filter, my cold rpms ran a bit higher than they have since I bought the car. The filter was filthy, so was assuming this was due to the car now finally being able to breathe.

I don't think that the running of the engine has anything to do with the interior filter. It is just for ventilation of the cabin, and has nothing to do with the air that the engine needs. For that you would have to replace the engine air filter.
Which is also an easy job.

So it certainly must be a coincidence.

I replaced both filters, and my question was related to the engine air filter . Sorry for the confusing question.
