Who has replaced their Air Susp w/ Coilovers, standard susp?
I have an '01 LS430, air susp. Ive heard they go at 35K and some at 120K, I have 113K and am starting to worry. The car rides fine, but I always have the thought in the back of my mind.
For those of you out there that have replaced your air suspension with coilovers, are you satisfied with the ride or do you regret not replacing the air suspension? There is no other car in the world that rides so smooth.
And what coilover system did you go with? Was it a direct bolt on to the air suspension bolt holes? (dumb question but gotta ask) Did you need a camber kit?

I had a 04 and replaced mine with Megan coilovers, I am satisfied with the swap. The ride is good, the turning and cornering is very good and responsive. The only thing I miss is the comfort but the coilovers is still a smooth ride, nothing beats oem though. It's a direct swap, bolts right on.

I just received my boxes from Sewell yesterday. I'm going with the standard OEM metal spring and shock setup. I'll be glad to tell you what I think after I get them installed. I'm doing it myself. My bags never failed just the shocks. 80K miles and 9 years.
Question for those that have done it themselves: Did you compress your springs or did you let a shop do it for you and how hard was it or how much did it cost?

94LSon20, You asked "How has replaced Air sus?"
PLS read Sticky: LS430 FAQ Thread (submit FAQ links here......) there you can read a lot of hints, too.
I had replaced mine with oem coilovers (used parts $ 750 ) two months ago because of the left hand side air shock died for oil leaking and gives a little bit noice.
I m happy with new realiability, now i do not need to think is Ls sitting or standing when i go into my carage.

UCF11 bags leaked, put k-sport full threads on. rode great, factory air is nice... dont worry about it failing any time soon, when the time comes its not going to like blow up and crash you.
first it starts slow... and then gets worse, or you wake up one morning and the rear of your car is on the ground.
i had the k-sports soft and up high for a while for a "moderate drop"
and it did ride similar to like a bmw 5 series or so, similar stifness to an s500 on the 2nd stiffness dampening setting.
but then... i brought it all the way to the ground...

Compressing springs yourself is dangerous. I installed my LS400 setup myself but I'll never do it again. It's a ***** putting 4 spring/strut setups together. Thanks for all the input

Compressing springs can be dangerous. If the spring compression tool let's go for any reason, and the spring decompresses rapidly, the stored energy can be quite high and can damage anything in its path quite severely.
I am curious about upgrading from the OEM base suspension to the OEM euro-tuned sport suspension. Anyone have feedback on that?
