Default Bluetooth overhead microphone quality fix?

I've been using the car's bluetooth system less often than I would've liked, as I get many complaints about background noise and the audio on the other end not being loud enough. Anybody else have this problem, and is there a known fix for it? There isn't too much regarding bluetooth to search through in the forums, and I haven't seen many people complain about audio quality. Is there a gain adjustment somewhere in a hidden menu?

Thanks in advance!

I have a soft spot for this subject as I HATE when someone has ME on speakerphone and it sounds like crap! I immediately threaten them that I'll hang up unless they take me off speaker..lol.

Whenever I'm in the mood to go handsfree, I have found, that, when travelling highway speeds (50mph+) people almost ALWAYS ask if they're on speakerphone, I then admit it, then they request to be taken off, then I go back to normal handheld.

When I am sitting still or idle or going below 35mph, and the WINDOWS UP, 95% of the people don't ask, or can't tell.

I even query people as---how do I sound right now?...then they says "Fine..why?" then I tell them they're on speaker and they say it sounds fine.

I know it sucks, but my suggestion is use the bluetooth only when--windows are UP, make sure AC is not blasting, and you're going 35mph or LESS, and you talk slightly louder than normal----UPWARDS towards the rear view mirror/near the sunroof switches.

I believe you hold the info button and turn the headlight off and on 4 times then the hidden menu for this will pop up.

This is not the best solution for you, but I have an 02 without bluetooth so I had a Parrot mki9100 installed. It not only does bluetooth for phone, but it will stream audio from a BT device, has a thumb drive and ipod hookup as well. My mic is mounted to the left of the rear view mirror on the glass of the windshield. The mic wire tucks into the headliner, and the screen is taped to the very left edge if the instrument cluster binnacle. The wireless remote control is sticking to the blank spot next to the VSC button.

The call quality is terrific and the folks I talk to do not notice an difference in call quality, as far as they are concerned, I'm on the handset. Mine was $299 plus a $100 Lexus specific harness - it is wired through the stereo. Calls and my ipod sound great.

I believe it is the Option button you hold. This gives access to a bunch of service options. Does anyone know where to get literature to support all of the capabilities of this (and subsequent) menu(s)?
