Default What oil filter do you recommend?

I just bought 6qts. of royal purple synthetic to change my oil with. I've been using mobile 1 synthetic up until now and had used the mobile 1 oil filter. I was just wondering what brand oil filters you guys use for your LS430? Should I just use the OEM filters?

I would say get a OE filter but I hear great things about WIX and Mobile 1 Filters. I do not know though since this is the first car I actually take to Lexus to get oil changed lol. I used WIX and M1 in my Supra though with no problems so I am sure it would be fine on stock engine.

A long time ago there was a site that did a comparison on all the oil filters on the market. The one that matched OEM was the Bosch oil filters. To this day, that's all I use.

I use K&N oil filter. Easy to install and remove with the 1 inch nut attached to it for easy removal. I found it to filters very well and been using it all my 2 cars for many years. Oil used is Mobile 1 Synthetic.

was just looking at the Toyota filters I bought from one of this sites recommended Lexus dealers and the part number is 90915-YZZD3,, interesting it does not match either of the part numbers in the above threads,, first series of numbers are the same as the higher grade filter but not the second batch,,

is totally sealed and the O ring is lubed,, can see the filter material is the corrugated fiber,,

has the same box with Toyota genuine parts all over it,,

wonder how many different filters Toyota makes that they can use on the LS 430,,

90915-YZZD3 is also known as 90915-20004, I believe.
The difference between the two is:

90915-20004 - JDM
90915-YZZD3 - USDM

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought a box of them(10x?) a while back from Sewell. It was like $35 at that time. I still have a couple left.

I had bought about two dozen or so of the OEM filters for my RX when I first got it and they were made in Japan and the material and fit-n-finish was just better. From the riveted casing, to the o-rings, etc. Then when I was running low, I bought a new batch and they were all made in Thailand and looked like Purolator filters with Toyota stamping.

Anyway, have used both and no issues thus far with either. Used in conjunction with Mobil 1.

FYI, I still have two of the Japan made filters. Keeping as show pieces for the future.
