Where is the amplifier located?
I have a LS430 -01, and I think my amplifier is blown. I have checked in the trunk under the floor panel on the passenger side, but the only thing I found was the radio tuner and the navigation DVD player. Where is the Power amplifier situated?
Please help!

well, I have a 02 but without the factory navi, i had to take off the rear right side panel and if you stick your hand or your head to the right, you will see the stock amp is actually kind of hidden behind the rear wheel fender inside the car. I know my explaination might be kind of confusing, and I don't have a picture to show, but hopefully this can help you find it.... again, I don't have the factory navi and that's where my stock amp is located

Does anyone know how to make sure the amplifier is blown?
I haven't had any sound since I bought the car, all the controls on the head unit works, radio, cd etc. but no sound at all.
If it's blown I need to buy a new or used one, does anyone know where to buy one?

I actually have the same problem with my 02 LS430. I haven't had any sound since I bought the car. Everything seem to work, but no sound coming out. The sound from the navigation system comes out, but that's because (I think) there is a separate amp for the computer system. I took mine to the dealer and the diagnosis was that my Mark Levinson (ML) amp was blown. Their price for a new (probably refurbished) one was $800. I was told this is a common problem (no sound after a while) with ML amps and subs for models up to 2002.
At this juncture, I have a few options, but still thinking about what to do. I could buy a used 02 ML amp knowing that sooner or later it will blow out on me again, get an after market system (which I'm told is quite unlikely to work), find an 03 amp that will plug and play with the 02 amp, or buy an 04 amp and make an adapter to fit the 02 amp. If you are interested in getting an 02 amp let me know and I can pass on at least one person I know is selling a used one. I cannot find an 03 amp yet, but I can get you to someone who can sell you an 04 amp and create a plug and play adapter for you to fit in your car.

Keep your eye on ebay, and e-mail dealers who look like they are parting out LS430s, I've seen them go fairly cheap on there but, there might not be one on there today but, who knows about tomorrow....

I've had my Bose System repaired by these guys out of Florida in the past. They did great work and were fairly reasonable. This should take you to there website... http://www.carstereohelp.com/ You will find Lexus (and several others) on the left side. You just click on "Lexus" and it will show you lots of details. Most of what may need to be repaired is already price quoted. You can also call in and talk to a tech if you don't see your issue. Not certain that they can fix your problem but it's a start. At the very least they should be able to help you find a good solution. Hope this helps!

I had the same problem everything worked even the navigation sound. i took it to a local shop and they repaired my amp for $250 bucks not bad compared to buying a new one.
