Replace Door lock Actuator
Hey, does anyone have directions, pictures etc on how to get the drivers door panel off? I need to change a power lock actuator. Any help is appreciated.

All I have to say is "Get Ready". Mine just broke and it was 700 dollars to fix and 564 of those dollars was the actual part, with a 20% Lexus discount. It sucks. I almost got rid of the car with the fear of 1,000 dollar a piece shocks and 700 dollar door locks. It was recommended not to do the job myself due to the complexity of removing the actuator. Be careful that you don't take half the door apart and figure out that it is not a DIY job.

Wow, I wishI would've known. You can buy that part for about $180.00 from irontoad.com. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, used to work on airplanes so I think I'll be okay doing it myself. I just need to know where the bolts and fastners are so I don't mess up the door panel. I guess I'll just have too buy the manuals. Thanks.

I doubt that the 180.00 actuator is the one my car requires. I have the ULTRA with the easy closer doors. That makes it the actuator over 2x as expensive. Look it up. The regular ls430 door lock is 280 from dealer so I beleive that is the part you are referring to as costing 180 dollars. I did exteeensive research before I let the mechanic touch this.

Thanks for the info. I have a ul as well with the closers, so I'll do some additional checking, but when I provided the info to it he knew it was a ul so we'll see. Thanks again.

Not to resurrect an old thread, but in case anyone is searching; my door locking actuator broke and it was replaced with a 10$ aftermarket one that was spliced in. Is it perfect? No. Does it may more noise? Yes. Was it a PITA to get to work correctly? Yes. After looking on rockauto and seeing they go for 500$, trust me get a simple door locking actuator off amazon.
