someone hit my side mirror =[
Hey guys,
I was driving along today, and noticed something fly off of my passenger-side mirror. Turns out that someone hit my side mirror in the parking lot - knocking my mirror loose and damaging the outer plastic body/cover. Thank God they didn't shatter the mirror.
The two clamshells that go around it are damaged, and it seems like they tried to piece the thing back together. The parts were loose, so that's why they flew off after the fact. They didn't put the mirror back on correctly, either... so it's crooked and i cant adjust it. Does anyone have any tips? The dealer wants my first born, and possibly an additional arm or leg.
Thanks!

Sorry this happened to you. Do you have all the inside parts of the side mirror or did they 'fly away' when you where driving? If not and it's only the shell damaged, the two clam shell parts can be purchased from Lexus as part# 87915-50030-xx retail ~$70. This compared to the whole mirror cost of $730 is a bargin. Where xx is the paint color...
OR
I've seen them on Ebay from time to time, but finding the correct color might be the real challange. It seems the sellers on Ebay often specialize in the same type of parts, so I'd even go back and look at completed side mirror auctions and email the sellers asking for a LS430 side mirror in your color. Who knows, worth a try.
Let us know your paint color. We CL members will keep on the look out too.

thank you very much!
The inside parts are fine. I need a set of clips, though. The mirror is not woring properly, but I'm sure this can be easily fixed. I think the impact forced it to pop out.
My car's color is "crystal while," which is metallic.
Thanks again!

Pole Position
Yeah, I had to turn in my first born when I demolished a mirror on my former '02 ES300. $600 I believe. Poor kid...now he's the lot attendant at the Lexus dealer as an indentured servant. At least I got a new mirror!
