Oil in spark plugs #5, #7. what does this mean?
While replacing spark plugs & wires, I noticed oil on/around spark plugs #5 & #7. Waht does this mean?
1993 LS400 with 130,000 miles. 30,000 old sprak plugs (Busch Platinum) and 130,000 old original wires. I was replacing the plugs,. wires, etc.
But, what is this oil?

Do you see oil leaks around the valve cover?
Does your car emit blue smoke?
Does the sparkplug has a light brown color?
If it does then its just minor oil fouling. Black, dirty, oily stuff is severe oil fouling. Oil fouling is caused by too much engine oil getting in the combustion chamber. Usually caused by bad valve stem seals, bad valve guides, or bad piston rings.
Hopefully its not the piston rings.

no visible leaks around, no blue smoke...

So, is their a diagnostic that Dealer can run and tell me specifics about this problem?

Was it on the part that goes into combustion chamber or was it on the ceramic part that the wire attaches to?
