95’ LS400 Timing Degree
I found out this means degree in timing could I get a better explanation on this and if the white mark shown is where it should be?

Back in the day we could manually adjust timing with a timing light.
‘This is not possible on your LS as timing is controlled by the ECU.
Think of the cam or crank pulleys like a protractor.

Yes, you do have pay attention to the timing marks - at the crank and cam sprockets if you're going to do a timing belt job.
Attached are the procedures for a '98-'00 timing belt. Read thru to assess your mechanical experience. There are some steps that do not need to be performed, i.e., removal of the crank and cam sprockets. The fundamentals remain the same for a '95. It's not a job for a noob. Ask questions.
