Can steering wheel from 98-200 model be fitted to 95-97 model ?
Actual question is about wooden steering wheel. Are they interchangeable ?
I can find wheel for 98-2000 model but none for 95-97. What the difference ?

The reason you can not find a wooden wheel for a 97 or older is they did not make them. That option came out in 98 then became standard in 99. The actual wheel will fit, the question is the airbag. Some people say the air bags are identical for 1995-2000 but I don't know of anyone for sure that have tried it. Look at these pictures. The airbag for the 98 looks the same minus the right side where the info controls are.

It won't fit, because the air bag may looks the same, but the 95-97 air bag is a little bigger. I used to owned a 95 LS and got a wood steering wheel from 99 LS and spend 30 minutes just to removed the leather steering and put it back on the way it was...

Hmmm thanks for the heads up. I was going to do this, but I think I'll avoid it now. Oh well, at least I know the partial leather/wood gear **** from the 1998-00 models will fit !

If I understand right wheel itself will fit but airbag wont. What if I put 98 model airbag inside as well ? I mean entire steering wheel assembly ? There is a chance that mounting for steering wheel is the same except maybe audio contols.
Worth trying. Have anyone tried this ?

The wheel itself will fit and the cruise control connector is the same, but I don't know about the air bag connector. I won't play or customize with the air bag or the connector.

Right now I'm driving around with no airbag, horn, or cruise control! I'm looking for a way to attach my 96 connector to the 2000 airbag.

Regarding all leather steering wheel (95-97) v. wood wheel (98-2000): I've had both types (had a '95 LS) and though the wood/leather wheel may be "prettier", the all-leather '95 is far superior in use. In fact, I just covered my '98 wood/leather wheel with a Wheelskin cover (tan top and bottom, oak sides in a tan interior car) and I love it - thicker, much better feel, better grip, even seems to drive better - psychological I guess. Also, the lacquer finish on the wood wheels always cracks, which doesn't look so great.
