I try to stay away from FIPG myself, just because it is so messy. But it does form a good seal when used correctly. Make sure you tighten the pump bolts in a crisscross pattern and torque in steps(I like taking it up in three increasingly higher torque levels until the final). That will ensure a good, even seal.
I didn't buy it I'm doing the work and it was a kit from pepboys smh! Told em to go with aisin kit but nope didn't wanna listen lol. Got new pump and it's not leaking anymore. Now just need to put the belt on and then it's good. Hate putting the belt on lol any tips and tricks to slide it on the cam easier?
Oh I thought you were doing your own car. Anyway I bet they will listen next time. I have a 98 so it might be different for your car but my cam kept jumping some teeth and it took me a long time to get that tight belt on. I had to apply the right amount of slack to the right hand cam to get the inside part of the belt on the left cam and then I pushed it the rest of the way onto the grooves. Then I had to take the belt off again for another reason. I ended up putting it on and then torquing the tensioner which made it much easier.
I myself have a 98 as well lol. All I got left to do is put the belt on like you said the cams keep jumping some teeth when I pull the belt trying to put over the right cam. Guess there is no easy way at all just gotta keep doing until able to.
