question about power steering resiovor hose
the rubber hose that is held onto the side of the resivior by a pinch type hose clamp is wet with fluid.
I want to replace it. am wondering if i can just purchase the right diameter black hose at a auto parts store, or is this a special hose. it has the same pinch type clamp on the other end, connecting it to a metal tube. by the way, this rubber hose i want to replace has a loose foam surround on it.

Thanks, I got some 3/8" id hose, but the od was not as big as original, so I had to use new hose clamps. I hope that takes care of the leak. I mean, I hope the pump is not leaking somewhere as well. I will keep an eye on the fluid level for now...

i try to use OEM clamps as much as possible to make the bay look as OEM as possible, but of course you can only do so much if they break or are using hoses with smaller OD.
usually the leak is at the lower part of the reservoir that feeds the PS pump. the $3 oring is the culprit. clean the area well and keep an eye on the leak. i suspect it will come back since the hose isn't usually the one to blame.
