air suspension problems
I have a 1995 ls400 with stock air suspension. About a month ago the rear left strut failed and was acting like it was collapsed. I couldn't get over a speed bump and was trapped on this one way narrow road with a speed bump in front and behind me. I turned off the car and got out to look at it and the wheel was touching the fender. I went back to the car and turned it back on and in about a minute the car popped right back up and was working just fine. Ever since then it has been doing the same thing randomly. I looked a couple other places and everyone else seems to think the airbag is just broken but I don't see how it could be if it works perfectly sometimes I feel like that's more of a computer problem maybe. The height light also flashes when it stops working.

check your height sensors (attached at the control arms, front and rear). they could be broken, or bent but most likely you are still experiencing a leak, not at the bag itself but at the other many components.
when the problem happens again, try and toggle 'high' on the height switch and see if the car levels out.

I'll check the height sensors I had not thought about that. Switching the height doesn't affect it either it works or that light starts flashing and that wheel just drops. When its not working you can hear a leak coming from that wheel but then when it's working you can't hear anything so I was thinking if maybe the dump valve was getting stuck open.

I am having the same issue that you have
For about 3 months now, my driverside rear shock would be collapsed after siting for a few hours on my 94 ls400. It only sags after sitting for a long period. After starting the car, the driverside rear shock would go back up after about a minute. The switches on the front to raise the suspension seem to work and I have It set to the high position. I need you help to understand how the rear air suspension works on the LS400. Did you ever find out the problem with your rear shock?? I'm not sure if I have a defective air shock or that it may be leaking. or maybe the air actuator is faulty. Any photos that shows where the sensors maybe located and how to check them. Does anyone have tips on what I should check or look for? thanks for all your help in advance.
