Sway Bar Links brand ( does it matter ) ?
Hello, so I have 00' LS400 and after I lowered it, I starting getting that clunk in the front over a bump. So I believe it's the stabilizer bar link, and also I will replace the bushings. I see on rockauto that they have links from $10 - $40 but I'm not sure which to get. I drive normal 99% of the time, but I do like to have some fun here and there.
Can you guys recommend bushing brand also? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I prefer the Moog and Raybestos Professional (NOT the "service grade") parts for aftermarket suspension.
That being said, your clunk is more likely the front strut rod bushings being out.
Edit: Go OEM only for the strut rod bushings. the poly bushings do not work well in that application.

after owning an auto repair business for over 30 years, and using Moog Suspension parts, I never had a part failure. Moog Suspension Parts are made by Federal-Mogul and are the preferred replacement parts for many professional and non professional mechanic's.... I too like OEM and use them for some items like the front strut rod bushings PD mentions above, and I just replaced mine on my 99LS earlier this year.... and agree with him, they are probably your problem also. so just use a little common sense as you go along with out being dogmatic about OEM.

I'm with PD and Billy on it being the strut rod bushings in the front. I used the get the clunk on small bumps with light braking before I changed them out. i would go OEM on those since it's not a particularly easy DIY and you don't want to do it twice. Just make sure they are clocked correctly and torqued on the ground with the weight of the car when reinstalling them.

Wow excellent information guys, lol. So everyone agrees that it's the strut rod bushings and not the end links or sway bar bushings??? I keep hearing that will fix it, but I do have 225k on the body, and it did start to happen the moment I left the driveway (there was a clunk in the front only left or right side) after my mechanic put new struts and springs, I'm surprised he didn't see or recognize anything else I needed to replace.

Davincity, in the last year I replaced (deep inhale): factory air to coil-over swap (Megan), f/r swaybar bushings (Prothane), front upper control arms (Moog), front lower ball joints (oem), front strut rod bushings (oem), front tie-rod ends (oem), and rear camber/caster arms (Megan). Car looks great, handles great, but THAT CLUNK...still there. Check out these 2 threads and good luck:
