Ok, well there is your problem. You have your cams both lined up but the crank is at 20 degrees Before TDC. It should be at 0.
You are going to have to release the tensioner, pull the belt and re-align. Make sure that when you re-do the belt that you rotate the crank at least 4 times to verify that the cams still align with the brackets and crank is at 0 degrees (TDC). Remember, the cams will only align every 2 revs of the crank because it is a 4 stroke engine. You will then be good to go.

The thermostat bleed hole is called the "jiggle valve" and covered in this thread -> https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...gle-valve.html
BTW, Viper, nice pics. You could almost just loosen the tension on the belt, pull it off of the crank while leaving the cams in place, turn the crank to 0 degrees and reinstall the belt on the crank. Sometimes its not that easy but you could try.

So you realigned the timing belt, verified the timing as correct, buttoned it back up and it ran fine for a minute, then back to dieseling again? If that is correct, then I am afraid you are going to have to verify the timing again just to make sure the belt is not jumping a tooth or three. Maybe something wrong with the tensioner holding properly. We have also seen several instances where the crank pulley key was not aligned and just got 'mashed' back in. That causes a slippage as well.
