yesterday i ran my A/C and after i turned my car off and went inside for about 20 minutes, i came out and noticed a small pool off water had dripped down near the front driver side wheel. when i started the car it sputtered which was unusual and sputtered for a block or two. then it ran smooth and has ever since.......of course i'm scared to turn on the A/C now.....lol......any ideas what happened?
Did you see water or anti-freeze? I ask because there is a drain house that drains water under the car when the AC is on. On the 98 I believe it's on the passenger side though.
ok, when i started it today the "coolant low" light came on, so i put about a half pint of coolant in to bring it up to the "cold level"........maybe this is related to my issue!
yes, the AC condensates the lines and water purging is completely normal, but as stated it's on the pass side a bit behind the front tire near the middle of the car.
now to find why the coolant was low to start with. find that leak!

Have you watched the temp gauge to see if it's not where it normally is? I hope that was Toyota coolant that you topped it off with.
Being low on coolant can actually shut your car down if it's low enough to protect your engine but you would see the temp gauge start to rise. Just drive it like normal and pay attention to how it performs closely.
