how to remove top A/C vent on 1999 ls400
I have a 1999 LS400 with Nakamichi radio. I thought you could just pry up the top a/c vent, but this one does not have clock with it but flasher lights unit. I can't get it to release and think I might be in trouble as it is coming apart. Please help me to get it off, so I can reassemble it
Thanks anyone
Thanks anyone

there are two locking levers. one on the left one on the right. If you look in the vent you can see it. the left on you would move to the right. the right you would move left. it slides.

Thanks for your reply. I found that there is a wedge kind of connection on top middle, didn't see the left /right locking levers. Got it off, but the louvers came apart. Did you ever have that happen and how do you get louvers back in place. Thanks for any help

Where are the clips on the top center A/C vent???
I have a 1999 LS400 (US market LHD). I can see a metal bracket at the top center of the top A/C vent (when I pry up the surrounding vinyl a bit). And that's where my 1999 service manual says the clip should be. But I've tried everything I can think of, and that metal bracket won't flex, and the vent won't budge.
And unlike some posts have said, I don't see any clips on the left or right side of the vent (either inside the vent or outside). And the service manual doesn't mention any such clips. Are the posts that' say the clips are on the left and right side of the vent maybe not for a 1999? Or not even for an LS???
So back to the original question: how do I remove the top center A/C vent on a 1999 LS400?
Thanks!!!!!
