Need help.. Hessitation under hard acceleration
How's it going ClubLexus! I haven't been here in a while but I have a problem with my 1994 LS400.
It started recently I was on the highway doing 70mph, tried to accelerate past a truck and when I press the throttle (for hard acceleration) it bucks and the motor wont rev over 3000 rpms. Now if I ease on the gas it has no problem slowly getting up to speed. Car idles normally and sounds healthy.
Has anyone had this issue? What should I look for?

Sounds like a fuel supply problem to me. A clogged fuel filter often causes your type of problem. I would be checking the fuel line first. Have you changed the fuel filer in the past? The fuel pump or fuel injectors might cause the problem too.

The clogged fuel line or weak fuel pump does not turn on the engine check light. You must have a more serious issue. You need to get the code first to solve the problem. Without a code reader, you can simply diagnose the problem putting a jumper wire at the DIAG connector. Search the forum and you will find the detail.
