Cleaning Speaker Grills on Doors
How should I go about cleaning the cloth speaker grills on my TAN interior 98 LS400? There are some light stains on them that should come out without too much trouble. I'm just wondering what I should use--I don't want to damage anything.

I don't know if I would call the speaker grills "cloth" - I assume they are coated metal. The speaker grills are attached to the door panels so I assume you would want to remove the door panels rather than take a chance on ruining the speakers with whatever liquid cleaner you are going to use.
I have not removed the door panels on my similar 00 LS but I assume they are attached like the door panels on other Toyota vehicles -- plastic clips and maybe a hidden screw or two. I recently removed the door panels on my wife's new Prius wagon to install signal mirrors - it was a matter of removing one or two hidden screws and then popping the door panel out with an interior trim removal tool and unplugging electrical connectors.
Edit: I just looked at a diagram and see that the speaker grills are separate and removable but it still looks like the panel has to be removed. If yours are in really bad shape, replacement grills are only $22.22 at forum sponsor Sewell with a forum member discount.

With mine I didnt take the door out. I just mixed some P21s with water and sprayed a light mist on the cloth then after a few minutes I used a wet/dry vac to clean it up
