new saying hello
Hey guys,
New to the lexus crowd, but not so new to cars.
Have a 1993 ls400 - got the car with 150k miles on it.
- had timing and waterpump done at 120k miles (but over 3 years ago +!)
- brakes all shot, including the parking brake shoes (they were very difficult to change WOW!)
- upper ball joints were more loose than ... lets say just pretty loose
- got junkyard ones that were good
then I found out about the lovely automatic alternator killing power steering failure...
- changed high pressure line
- put in new used pump from wreckers - pump does not pump!
So I'm here, it being spring and still not driving the car...
I have two bad power steering pumps, and I'm thinking I will rebuilt them with the seal kit.
I hope to someday soon drive the lexus...!

Welcome to Club Lexus.
Sorry to hear about the mechanical issues, sometimes it is tough on the wallet. I know the feeling.

Just ordered one kit now from discount toyota parts for the powersteering pump. (28$) I found a bearing locally for 6$
If this goes well, then yes I'll post the other one after I rebuild it!
