How to clean the engine compartment?
I plan on removing the battery and the stock airbox..but not the entire intake system. I am gonna seal up the intake to keep water out....how do I seal off the coil pack and other ignition components...and how do I clean them. What else do I need to watch out for on these engines. Thanks

you talking about degreasing the engines? IMO the best way is to have someone heat-steam blast the engine bay because it will get the caked off grease completely off. problem with that is many shops that do it will make you sign something beforehand saying you wont sue them if they damage your engine. anyway, if you are going to do it yourself, get a (any) engine degreasing formula, preferrably professional strength. you can saran wrap your spark plugs and other things not meant to get wet. the safest way but slowest way i can think of would be to work your way very slowly with a toothbrush to get into little crevices and a rag to rub off the grease. the quickest way will be to blast water all over, but the chances that your engine wont start after you're done increases. i've done both and thankfully the engine was cleaner and it did start. dont flood your engine.
