Are the Edmunds prices accurate to what dealers should be offering?
So far they have been a lot higher, anywhere from 1.5-2x higher..
I'm from the Sacramento, CA area if that helps any.
I would appreciate any help!

Depending on the miles and condition of the car, I've seen anywhere between $2000-5000. A lot depends on the condition. I got mine for $3200 with 112,000 miles on it. It's had issues since I got it. It also had a rebuilt title.

Oh, ok, thanks
Any idea what this is talking about? is this showing trade in value or something?

I see them on craigslist for around those prices, so maybe private party value?
If I knew there was nothing major wrong with the ones on craigs I'd ****** one up fast...but everyone I call doesn't sound like someone that took care of it, and I don't know enough about cars to make the call myself haha
My neighbor has a clean *** 93-94(I think, never talked to him lol), maybe he knows someone selling a decent one cheap, I'll have to try to catch him outside sometime...or maybe he's on this site, idk I'll have to keep an eye out

Pole Position
Madera; Those prices from Edmunds are True Market Value. (TMV) Any dealer will jack up the price alot more then what a private party would charge. It's a business, they have overhead. It doesn't mean you're getting a better car b/c it cost more, they just need to make more money. You should find a car from a private owner that's been taken care of good. The small dealers get most of thier cars from auctions, and those cars are the garbage trade ins, reposessions, and recovered stolen vehicles. The price you pay will determine on your area. The ones I see here in Ct. are going for between $1500-$3000.

OK, thank you, that was the part I wasn't understanding, guess it makes sense now that I look at it that way.
Now the trouble will be finding one that isn't owned by some guy that answers the phone like: "Ayo was good?! Oh, yea, I still gots it...it run hella good, and da old *** Asian lady I bought it from did hella **** to it for I got it. I ain't really remember what she did doe ahahaha but it's clean as hell breh look at da pics up on craigslist, homie, supah clean."
I'm lookin for the old guy that has all the records, or at least from a friend of a friend or something like that so I can have some peace of mind knowing the chances of it being a POS are smaller.

Just saw a really sweet burgundy '93 at a ma n pa dealer here in phx, Todd's Auto sales, they were asking 1875 for it. I dont know for sure what he got for it, but it sold quickly. Friends have bought cars there and from what I hear the dude usually gets his asking price. His stuff is usually in good shape and he seems honest about anything wrong with his product. I know , crazy thinking of a used car saleaman with honest in the same sentance. I'm with Dean on this one, I certainly wouldnt pay anything over three and it would have to be darn near new to pay that. Bear in mind that first generations , especially 93 and 94 s have stumbling issues that seem to be a pickle to solve and they aint fun to live with.
