low coolant light comes on - It.s full! what now
Ok, posted couple weeks ago about buying 92 ($ 900.00) (real nice body and new Mich tires) with bad timing belt not running- Car has 157K on it. Installed timing kit with tensionner and pulleys, water pump new pump pulley bracket and changed rotors cap and plugs. Runs smooooth.
Old timing pulley just melted and blocked OLD belt !!! Probably original, and car had dealership inspection sticker at 120K !!
Anyways the problem:
Low coolant light comes on 30 seconds after starting, rechecked twice and reservoir is full, fan turns cooling fans turn- so what now??
Thanks guys

Check faulty connection between sensor and plug. Are the wires frayed to the plug? Check continunity, resistance in the sensor. Just look for some basic things with the connection.

Check coolant tank. It should just pull out of the coolant tank and electrical plug. Be cautious when removing the sensor. The plastic tank can get brittle over the years.

Thanks for the info on the pics. I took mine out an cannot for the life of me can figure out how it works !!!!!! small float ring on plastic shaft moves up and down, but I do not see any contacts!! mine moves up and down ok.
If someone KNOWS please let me know and how to test it. When I unplug the sensor, the light on inst. cluster goes out.
