Default 1993 LS 400 cluster illuminating needles

I own a 1993 LS 400 and I have no problems with it except tachometer needle does not eliminate. The question I have to ask to the forum , is if I take an old cluster and remove either tachometer or speedometer needle from an old 1993 cluster to use in my current cluster in the place of the tachometer ,will it work. I thank all of the members for a reply.

If the cluster come from the same year I think it should be o.k. But make sure it's work before you buy it and becareful when you take it apart. Be gentle.

Even though this is a year old i'm going to answer it because i just did it. The Needle clusters can be switched from RPM to SPeedo but you have to also switch the circuit boards attached to the needle clusters. The needles themselves are the same but the tiny circuit boards are different. be sure to pull the entire needle cluster out and not just the needle itself. Immediately after removal, tape the needles in place to keep them from rotating on their own. Even rotating half way around can knock the calibration out of whack.
