95 LS400: Car shut off on me !!
Hey guys,
I was on the highway and started to slow to take the exit. The car judders under braking (not sure why yet, but I know it's not my rotors as I just finished changing them 2 weeks ago) and as I came to around 50km/h (30mph), the car just shut itself off. I immediately turned the ignition key back on and the car restarted right up, as if nothing was wrong. I was deeply confused as the car never showed any form of hesitation on the highway. I had 1/4 tank of gas left and everything seemed cool. The only thing I could think of is I had left the cruise control on and maybe it shut the car down when I slowed down too much (it could be a faulty cruise computer?) Any feedback helps

I never have but the previous owner said he changed them shortly before he sold it to me which was a year ago (more or less). I'm also finding that the car drinks a lot of fuel, more than when I bought it. It could be that my plugs are fouling.. I'll check them out soon.
What might this updated part number look like? How much could it cost me?

Interesting, why would you say fuel pump ? Do you think that the fuel pump would shut the car off like that ? I haven't had any other problems since it previously happened. I'm not entirely certain as to why a fuel pump problem would be intermittent. Can you enlighten me ?

I have the very same problem, i.e. the engine stalls after driving a bit (or a long distance) on the highway in constant speed. (Some 10-20 kilometers is enough to have the symptom appearing.) There are older threads on this subject and a ECU update seems to be the way to go. I checked around and it seems like a company at this website: http://www.autoecu.com updates the ECU for US $99 plus shipping. They'll do it in one day, so it should be rather quick if you live on the north american continent. (I live in Sweden, so I guess it will take me some 2 weeks to get my ECU back if, or rather when, I ship it to the US for an update.)
An alternative could be to check this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...orkaround.html, where the fix is a few minutes work plus material for a dollar or so.
