Default Dash Lighting

Hello all I own a 199 LS 400 and just recently had the timing belt and water pump replaced. This is a smooth running car and very comfortable especialy over my Jeep Cherokee. The dash lights sometime go dim then bright again. It seems like a loose connection somewhere because I can rap the dash and they get brighter.Where do I check for the loose connection?Other than a few minor glitches I really enjoy this car.And I hope to put a lot of miles on it.

There's an external light sensor/photocell at the very front of the dash (by the front window) which thorugh some electronics controls the brightness of the dash lightning. Maybe that photocell is getting "tired" or something. I have the same phenomena happening now and then, but it seems too complicated and possibly expensive to fix, so I recon I have to live with it. It only happens for a few seconds each week or so, so I'm not really bothered.

What year is it? Seems to be a slight typo here.
