sc430 wheels on a ls400
i am thinking about getting a set of sc430 wheels for my 2000 ls 400. will they fit? will the 40 series tires effect the ride much? also, i heard that run flats suck. i like the ride of my stock rims and tires, but like the look of the sc rims. not sure what to do. thanks.

A good friend of mine has an SC430 with run flat tires. I've taken the car for a few weeks in the summer before to have some fun. The run flat's stink. Very harsh ride and when they're cold, they vibrate at low speeds.

the sc430 wheels will not fit on your car unless you get at least 15mm adapters for the front to clear the brake calipers.
that said, the "correct" tire size if you are not lowered is 245/45-18. if you wish, you can run a 225/50-18 instead. just keep in mind that irrespective of the difference in aspect ratio, or "profile", the two sizes have a mere 0.1" difference in sidewall height due to the difference in width. generally speaking, the wider 245/45-18 will be a better choice.
