~Info needed on 2JZGTE in an LS400~
I have to be honest I've always admired the LS400, 430, and so on. This is my first post in the LS forum. Ive been working on SCs for about 4 or 5 years now. Ive got an Aristo 2JZGTE non VVT-I sitting in my garage right next to my 1JZGTE. Ive always wanted to do a 2JZ swap on an SC300. But lately Ive been kind of thinking about putting it in another car. The LS400.
I know I would have to take care of wiring and such but one thing I dont quite understand is if I would have to get custom motor mounts for the 2JZ to sit in the LS400. The car Im looking at is a 98-00 LS400. If no custom motor mounts will be required for the install I'll probably just buy an LS4 and look into this project a little more.
Any additional input for this type of project would be greatly appreciated. Ive looked through Retro's project but would like to know a little more about what I should expect. Thanks guys!

Im gonna guess you'll need custom mounts since you need diff mounts when swappin a JZ series into an SC400 as well. I remember years ago seeing a gte swapped LS400, but I think the owner was overseas and it was a rather tedius project. If it turns out to be easier, please document the swap!!!

hit me up on aim, i'll help you out with a decent bit of info since you're a moderator and not just a newbie buggin' me.
you will need a custom driveshaft if you plan on using a manual trans. honestly, the biggest hurdles will be not the motormounts as it will be the chassis wiring and getting the rest of the drivetrain fit/working.

The more I look into this project the more I want to just go out and buy an LS. I'll hit you up online for more details.
