Do I have to replace my Brake Booster?!!!
Hello Everyone,
I'm very curious about how does a brake booster break down. Does get worse and worse or if it fails it fails? Is it possible for the booster to fail at times or will it fail ALL the time if it is bad? My brakes only gets stuck in the up position in the morning after the car has been sitting overnight or for awhile. But it doesn't get stuck everyday. I will know when it will get stuck. I would step on the brake once and if the next step the pedal stays up then the brake pedal will get stuck. I'm wondering if it can be the booster check valve. The reason is that the booster is very expensive. Please help guys.

SK,
Thanks. For I've been told, the brake booster almost never fails or go bad. Is that the case? So the booster can fail from to time and not all the time? Thanks.

On most cars it never fails , every LS i have driven 95 and newer had a pedal that sinks to the floor . It brakes fine just the booster starts to fail by not holding enough vac assist.

Do I need to replace my brake booster?
Hi,
Thanks. I have a 1996 LS. System has been bled. New SS brake lines have been installed. I will put in a new master cylinder this weekend, but think I will put a new brake booster in. BTW, I never mentioned that my brakes feel mushy. LOL...just wondering where that got started on this thread. Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated.
