Replacing Fuel Filter In LS400
Well I replaced my Fuel Filter in my 1990 Lexus LS400 using
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/fuelfilter.html
It was messy! The fuel kept flowing, it never stopped. You just have to work with it flowing I guess.
Gas performance is way better though

Really that would have worked?
THe fuel filter is under the car. The gravity would have made it leak out or the fuel would have stopped up to the pump?
wish I knew that
thanks

My mechanic just replaced the fuel filter on my 95 LS 176,000, it had never been changed. Wow, what a difference it makes. Immediately I could feel the car was running a lot better, Smother, better acceleration. The car runs like it’s new. It really does make a difference.

I went through the same experience. The gas never stopped flowing while I clumsily went about swapping the filters. My hands and arms got drenched. I got it done though - and yes, I removed the cap thinking it was a smart thing to do. I'll try it with the cap on next time. Thanks for the tip.
