Default Timing Belt change.........Oh Yea!!!

I took my time and finally found the exact LS 400 I was looking for. I have had it now for about 2 weeks. After pouring over this website I see that the Timing Belt service is a "big deal". Everything else in the car has been cherry and the engine checked out great with my mechanic. I am going to have the dealer run the VIN as soon as I can get there.

In the meantime I was looking over the engine today and I notice a sticker affixed to the Timing Belt cover. It said the Timing Belt had been changed at 144K, I'm at 163K so it has less than 20K on it. I'm a happy man.

Erfan, as soon as I can get my hands on a digital camara I will. I really, really lucked out on this one. Local guy had to sacrifice. He had lowered the price in the local auto trader 4 times from Nov-Dec. No bites with the economy the way it is and with the holiday's, just nobody was looking for a high milege LS 400.

I picked it up for $6,500. Lowest I've seen locally here in San Diego. It's extremely cherry, especially for it's age. Almost all my friends and acquaintances that are not necessarily Lexus savvy think I bought a brand new car. I have gotten several "thumbs up" from fellow Lexus drivers that can appreciate an 11 yr old LS 400 that's in cherry condition.

Are you in So. Cal? play golf? maybe we can hook up.
