Default New to the group - Yet another Air Suspension question

I found this form from the S2Ki forum. This is a great place to find other LS lovers... I have always wanted to add stuff, but there just was not much out there. Anyways...

My LS has the air suspension and I think I have read every thread regarding this including the GS4to4 thread. I would rather use the computer to change the ride height (I called RMM over a year ago and they had nothing), but if I have to turn the "pencil" type suspension rods I may do that. Has anyone done that recently and have pictures? OR Has anyone found the computer that controls the suspension? I REALLY want to get this to drop a bit and I cannot always do above 72mph to get the suspension to drop. And was'up with that - 72mph

ColoLS4, I think GS4to4's way might be the only way, theres somthin in japan and can lower your car with air suspension via some kind of ECU.

Dont look in the U.S for any upgrades cause there is far too none here, you gotta look into the Japan market, they have a huge inventory of stuff for the LS4 over there.

By the way welcome to clublexus!

Jack the car up and loosen those rod like screws. It works. i have stock rims and there is not reason for me to lower my ride. i have been in the shop few times the last couples and i was so temped to loosen the crews.

its easy.

I have to changer the oil tomorrow and I plan to give it a shot. I think I will mark that rod with a black felt tip marker so I know how many turns I did. If I cannot get it to work properly I will put it back the way it was. The trick is to see what way to turn the rod, left or right. I got under the car tonight and I found the front rods that go into this black plastic deal just behind the mounting of the "shock". The rear rod (I assume) is in the "front" of the rear suspension. It looks like there is only about a 1/4 of an inch to play with. I have heard to jack it up and do the deal OR to leave in on the ground with the tires on. I think I will try it with the tires on first. I'll let you know what happens...

the Air Suspension Controller is made by a company called R-Spec. Everything on it is in English and it's pretty easy to figure out. They're about $500...

The controller is a little box with some buttons and a LED display (about the same size as a typical Turbo Timer) and you can have preset settings (Super Low, Low, Regular, 4x4, etc..) or you can adjust it in increments. Definitely the way to go if you have air suspension...

Where can i get the BLACK BOX? do u have the R-spec link? As for the manual lowering is very easy, especially the rear.

The rear high, you dont even have to take out the rod. All you have to do i use a wrench and turn the screw. Its a two sided screw.

The Front: you need to loose the two nuts (one from the top of the rod and one below the rod).

Jack up the car with tires on, there is no need to take the tire out. Do the rear first. Jack up the rear and slide under the car and you will see a pencil size rod about 3-4". Use a wrench and turn the screw. I am not sure which way will make the car goes down, but do it and see. Make sure to mark you nuts. good luck

David -

Do I need to take the whole rod out on the front or just loosen the nust and twist it then tighten the nust back? Also, why start with the rear? Just wondering.

Thanks,
Todd

The rear is easier because you dont have to take out the rod. Just use a wrench (8 or 9 mm). The front you need to take out the rods and adjust according.

Good luck
