Default Alarm Advice

Some bastard broke into my gym locker and stole my keys including my alarm button. Is it cheaper getting a aftermarket alarm and getting the factory onee turned off or getting the factory redone. Any suggestions. I am in Tampa, FL.

I believe getting two new keys + the transponder that goes along with it costs something along the line of ~500/600. Thats what I was quoted at the Lexus dealer, and that includes labor.

You still need a key right? I think that would be the best way to go. I believe there are ways to piggy back aftermarket alarms ontop of the stock alarm.. I know one of the SC guys did it with a clifford system, and cleverly stuck his key inside the clifford key fob. I think his name was A Clean SC or CleanSC4 or something like that. I'm sure you can do the same thing with the LS.

Since it seems like you need a new key anyways, I would go throuhg the dealer and get new keys/alarm etc.

contract your insurance company to see if they cover the replacement of the locks and keys.
They may just write the car off .
In this instance your year of car is more important than location.
