Traction Light and Window
I am looking at a 1991 LS 400 with 138000 miles. When I went to look at it the "trac" light was on. Does anyone off the top of their heads know what could be causing this and if it is a huge problem. The seller said that a dealer said that it does not affect the driveability of the car. What could be the possible cost to fix this?
Also the right rear window has a bad motor. What is the cost to fix this?
Other than the tow aforementioned items the car is in really good shape with all records from the dealership.
Thanks for any and all help...

i had the trac light come on for no appparent reason at about 180,000 miles.
i stopped the car on the interstate, with right wheels on the sandy roadside and the left wheels on the pavement, floored it from a dead stop, and the light went off. i'm no expert, but it acted like the system got a little off cycle, and flooring it reset everything. that is the best explanation i can give. the car now has 200,000 miles on it and the problem has not recurred.

I have tried everything, I think, to get my TRAC lite off (it means the Traction control system has shut down due to a malfunction). There is no solution that I have seen (all the simple stuff like resetting, flooring it, etc has only worked for a short time. I have had the car since new, 95 SC300, and it has given me trouble for the last 3 or 4 years. I contiune to look for a solution. I have replaced numerous parts. If anyone knows what causes this problem, please let me know. This has nothing to do with the CEL which is fine.
Otherwise, the car is bulletproof and has been a joy.

that trac light is real annoying
i have 91' ls400 with 308,000 miles and that has never happened to me out of the blue, but whenever it has happened it is beacuse of the positioning of the TPS ( the one on the left side ) and check if the vehicle is idling to high or low and adjust it according to idle and then take the negative battery off and it shoudl go away. If the problem persist then the TPS on the car is not functioning, go ahead and change that out and the trac light should go away.

Just fixed mine other day. Check the trac relay just in front of the battery under the air cleaner intake, behind driver headlight. Repaired the relay, (bad connection). put it back in and whola.. No more trac light..
Hope that helps.
