1995 LS400 Air Suspension Conversion to Strutmaster's "Hydraulic Strut System"
I have a 1995 Lexus LS400 and the rear is sagging due to the electronic air shocks leaking and needing to be replaced. the deaer wants $1100 per shock plus labor. I have come across website http://www.strutmasters.com/catalog.php?cat=14 which offers "air suspension conversion" kit for $649.00 to a "hydraulic strut system".
Has anyone used this product before? How is the ride quality? I am looking to get as close to the manufacture original air ride quality as possible. I read in one thread that the rear will be slightly higher due to the trunk loading factor with this struts. Any input before i replace them would be appreciated.
Lastly, the front of my LS400 sit normal and appears to be in good condition and not leaking like the rear. I have 140,000 miles on the car. if someone has an interest in the parts let me know as i will attempt to sell on ebay. A quick reply would be appreciated because i need to make a quick decison.
Thanks,
Kyle

Have a look at the Arnott industries site , they do replacement air struts for the Lexus at less than half the price with a lifetime warranty on the airbag .

From what I have read, the system is using Tokico Hp blues. I just recently had to replace my Tokico HP blues due to them blowing out. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Especially since I had just had them installed in February and I don't drive my car but every other weekend. My personal opinion, have them change to a different shock, or else leave them alone.

I just had the Strutmasters http://www.strutmasters.com/catalog.php?cat=14 "air suspension conversion" kit to a "hydraulic strut system" done on my 1995 LS400. I paid $699.00 for the kit and the local mechanic charged $500 for a total of $1200. The car looks great and drive like factory in my opinion and handling is good also. I would recommend the Strutmasters "air suspension conversion" kit.
Also, was trying to purchase some chrome entry level stock 16in wheels but every thing rubbed again the front Calipers which they say are really big. When they found a wheel that didnt rub, it protruded out....the back wheel fit is not a problem its just the front. Any recommendations of a set of wheels that would work for arount $400 -$600 set?
