$700 to fix front side window
My front driver side window has been out. I took it to the dealership and they are charging $700 to fix it. They say the motor is shot.
I guess I'll have to pay it....
+$400 for 105,000 checkup
=$1,100 basically thrown away.......
So much for rims and new suspension this month....

Um why would you go to the dealer for that? I'm new to the lexus scene but can't you find one in a lot somewhere?

You must be kidding me.
I paid that much to do timing belt!
What do they check there?

i have a '93 ls400, and a '95 lesabre. the driver's window went out on the lesabre.
dealer said $270 for the motor, $403 for the regulator, and $250 or so for labor.
i went online and got a used regulator WITH motor for $40, including shipping over half-way
across the country. from a tip i learned on another post in this forum, i did NOT go to a
mechanic for install. i went to elite auto glass. they take doors apart all the time.
they charged $80 to take out the bad parts and install the good parts. works great.
stay away from the dealer.
use your head.

The only good thing about this is that I have the new GS as a rental untill tomorrow.
It is an amazing car. The coolest part is that there is no key and you just walk up to the car and it unlocks.
I had them not do the window, should save a few hundred.
Ill probably even try calling toyota dealership and see how much they would charge to install the motor that I buy online.
---
Im in love with that new gs, not even a fan of white but it looks great. Not a fan of the black wood either but it is very hot. to anyone who has this car. The old stock gs body doesn't even compare to the new one.

That is expensive for the motor. The motor itself is really cheap. I'm sure you can get it installed much cheaper than $700 also.

Its currently at a shop about 10 minutes away from my house. They are fixing it for $300, not bad since the motor itself is listed online around $140. Thats $400 less than the dealership wanted. Kila_ pm me when you get back to cali
That new GS is so nice, I love how there is no key. Walk up and it unlocks by itself, and locks by itself. Very handy when your hands are full, I could see myself owning that car if the far future.
Ill list what all they did for $400 at the dealership
Parts & Labor
Air Conditioning Cabin Filter
Air Filter
Battery Terminals
Cooling System
Underhood fluids
Inspect body
Inspect brake fluid
Inspect ball & joints & dust covers
Inspect break lines & hoses
Inspect Drive Belts
Inspect Exhaust Pipes& Mountings
Inspect Steering Linkage & boots
oil & filter change
rotate tires/tire pressure
Road Test
Service Automatic Trans Mirror
Service Rear Diffrerential
Tail lamp out indicator coming on replaced r/r tailight
+ all the parts/prices
