Hello there,

I'm a newbie to this forum...just bought a '95 LS400, and loving it more than I thought possible.

I'm looking to buy a second remote entry keychain, and I found several 'candidates' on eBay. Does anyone know if there are differences between the remote chains between years or models? To buy one new from the dealer is around $250 and I can find one for about $50, but it's from a '97 ES300. Anyone know if that might work after it's programmed?

ES 300 AND LS 400 REMOTE ENTRY KEY FOBS ARE NOT ON THE SAME FREQUENCY.ES WILL NOT WORK WITH THE LS AND VICE VERSA. BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU BUY BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOOK AT EACH ONE AND TELL A DIFFERENCE. A NEW ONE IS YOUR SAFEST CHOICE. THERE IS A SPECIAL PROGRAMMING SEQUENCE REQUIRED TO PROGRAM THE REMOTE.

are you able to program it such that all the doors are opened with the first press instead of having to press twice??

Get a Lex key chain opener from e-bay and have dealer reprogram it for $80 or so. That is what my dealership quoted me.

Thanks for the info....I got the key, and all the FCC numbers match on the back...it may be from a LS400 '96. Could you tell me (or email me) the steps to program the remote? I would appreciate it so much....
