The 1997 LS400 I just purchased was missing the remote entry key fobs. On e-bay there are generally two for auction that they say will work for the LS400. The FCC numbers are:

1. HYQ1512P

2. HYQWDT-C

My question is will both of these work? Would some one tell me the FCC number on their remote for a 1997?

Appreciate any help you can offer.

1. HYQ1512P This is current # compatible with the ES300 from '95+ and possibly some other Lexus/Toyotas.

2. HYQWDT-C This one works for my '97 LS Coach Ed and the 95-97 SC300/400 chare this same remote.

I'd call the dealer with your VIN# to verify which is the correct remote. Typical price is ~$30 off that auction place. Also, the cases on these are pretty beat, check the Toyota remotes section for compatible cases, I bought a new Toyota remote for $6. (It was a low demand model so I wasn't bidding against anyone.)

 

You need remote # 89742-50510 which is HYQWDT-C

 

Well that confirms it. Narrows down the choices but sure beats getting the incorrect one.

My brain was in neutral for not thinking of the SC 300/400 angle from that auction place. Searched the Toyota offers but none.

For the record every mile I drive this car I am more and more convinced I will be hard pressed to go to any thing else.
