I just bought a 1998 LS400
Hello to all.
My names Dan and I just purchased a 1998 LS400 this week.
It's now got 68K miles after the drive back from Florida and I must say I'm enamored with it. Very luxurious and a real pleasure to drive.
Pardon the slightly dirty appearance, these were taken when I finished the trip:
I've decided to sign up here because I have been having difficulty finding alot of information pertaining to the car myself.
I know it has the 1UZFE motor in it but I would like to know what generation it's known as. I know it's a slightly different motor than the 95-97 but I believe it's the same body so I'm a bit confused. This all leads to what performance parts are available for my particular model. I believe suspension will be the first step. Suggestions?
I also would like to eventually run some form of forced induction but I'm not finding any prefabricated setups. I have no problem creating a custum set-up but I'd like to know if that's neccesary now (possible links would be greatly appreciated as well). If anyone knows how many PSI the stock internals on the motor can reliably tolerate that would be helpful too. I've seen a large disparity in figures there.
Thanks to all for any and all help .
