Traction and Check Engine Light Coming On
'92 LS400 with 200K. Have had the car for a long time and love the ride and am willing to put up with some first generation problems until I want to upgrade.
Problem is resently my Check engine light and traction control light have turned on. With winter coming in Minnesota I want to get this corrected. I have searched and found that it could be the TPS or O2 sensor or knock sensors.....WHICH ONE IS IT!!!! or it all of them.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I have very similar problem on my 94 LS400. I run the diagnostics and found out the error code is 41 which caused by TPS sensor.
You should run the diagnostics first to pin point which sensor caused the problem. Below is the procedure.
Under the dash, above the left knee there is a small round box with a cap. Open the cap, using a paper clip, stick in the ports that say E1 and TE1, turn the ignition on do not start the engine. Count the no. of flash on the check engine light. Notice the pause between the flashes. code 25 mean 2 fast flash pause then 5 fast flashes. If there are more codes there will be a pause between the codes too.
Once you get the errof code, go to the following web site to find out what it is.

Good luck to you and tell us what is your problem and how you fixed it.
